With less than two weeks remaining before the start of the 2010 gridiron season, TheMWC.com presents its 2010 Football Countdown. Mick McGrane, MWC Correspondent, will preview of each of the league's football programs, beginning on Friday, August 20, and continuing for nine consecutive business days, ending on Wednesday, September 1. Each preview in the series will be released in reverse order of the MWC preseason media poll, ending today with No. 1 pick TCU.
KEYS TO SUCCESS
The real key is identifying a weakness. Not only do the Horned Frogs return more players than any team in the MWC, they feature the conference's preseason Offensive Player of the Year (Dalton), Defensive Player of the Year (Carder) and Special Teams Player of the Year (Kerley). TCU's firepower on offense, combined with a defense that has ranked No. 1 in the nation four times in the last 10 years, puts it on par with any team in the nation.
DID YOU KNOW?
TCU outgained its MWC opponents last season by an average of 261.9 yards per game. BYU ranked second at 92.9.
