A homegrown Wyomingite from Greybull, Tom Wilkinson was a three-year letterwinner (1963-65) at quarterback for head coach Lloyd Eaton. He broke onto the UW scene in 1963 as a sophomore throwing for 902 yards and a career-best 10 touchdowns. In 1964 as a junior, he became the first Cowboy quarterback to pass for more than 1,000 yards, tallying 1,021 yards on 60 completions and seven touchdowns. As a senior captain in 1965, he backed up his junior season numbers throwing for 1,313 yards on 84 completions and six touchdowns. During his career he posted a perfect 6-0 record against Colorado State and BYU.
Beginning on July 13, we will count down the 50 days to kickoff of the 2012 Wyoming Cowboy football season with a new feature titled "Cowboy Two-A-Days". Each day for 50 days leading up Wyoming's season opener at Texas on Sept. 1, we will feature some of the great Cowboys who wore jersey numbers 1-99 during their playing careers. Joe DiGiorgio
Offensive Center 1979-82
An All-WAC selection at the center position in 1981 and 1982, Joe DiGiorgio was the anchor of his offensive line. The Pokes had their best season of his era in 1981, when UW went 8-3 with wins over BYU, Colorado State and Air Force. The Levitown, Pa., product was named a team captain in 1982, a year in which the Cowboys set an all-time team mark with 731 rushing attempts for the season, an average of 60 per game. He lettered from 1979-82.
