LAS VEGAS - The Mike Sanford Football Camps have come to a close, but the Rebel coaching staff and the team is keeping busy as summer hits Las Vegas. Record numbers attended the camps, including more than 700 for the team camp.

Here is a look at the latest news from UNLV football:

-The first session of summer school has wrapped up and the Rebels who attended earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 for the session.

-UNLV football coaches spent 20 days recruiting in May, hitting Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington and America Samoa looking for talent.

-More than 90% of returning Rebels have remained in Las Vegas to participate in voluntary summer workouts.

-UNLV opens camp on Aug. 3 at Rebel Park and the season opener for the Rebels is Aug. 30 at Utah State in Logan, Utah. The Rebels' first home game of the 2007 season is against Wisconsin on Sept. 8. Fans can get tickets by logging onto www.unlvtickets.com or by calling (702) 739-FANS.
