LAS VEGAS - No less than 10 UNLV players have been named to various preseason All-Mountain West Conference teams, including half on at least one first team list, as the annual summertime rollout of college football preview publications is well underway.

Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Wolfe, junior defensive end Jeremy Geathers and senior linebacker Beau Bell were named First Team All-MWC by Blue Ribbon Yearbook. Also, junior-college transfer and former Cal running back Frank "The Tank" Summers was tabbed the league's Newcomer of the Year.

Lindy's College Football Preview included six Rebels on its preseason teams. Wolfe was on the first squad while Bell, Geathers, junior receiver Casey Flair, sophomore center Joe Hawley and senior place-kicker Sergio Aguayo were all members of the second team.

Wolfe was listed as the league's Most Dangerous Deep Threat while Bell was ranked the No. 5 NFL prospect in the league by Lindy's.

Athlon Sports listed six Rebels on its two teams. Wolfe and Geathers were on the first squad while junior quarterback Rocky Hinds joined Flair, Bell and Aguayo on the second team. In its unit rankings, UNLV boasted the No. 1 receiver/tight end corps as well as the No. 2 group of quarterbacks.

Phil Steele's College Football Preview went three teams deep and included eight UNLV representatives. On the first team, Wolfe, Bell and Aguayo were joined by senior defensive back Mil'Von James. The second team had Geathers and senior kickoff return man Ronnie "Pooh" Smith. The third team included Hinds and senior offensive guard Tim Goins.

Sporting News and College Football News have not yet released their respective preseason all-conference teams.

UNLV opens its season at Utah State on Thursday, Aug. 30. The Rebels' home opener features potential top-10 opponent Wisconsin on Sept. 8. Season tickets are on sale now by calling (702) 732-FANS. Log onto unlvrebels.com for more information.
