May 10, 2012
LARAMIE, Wyo. - Former University of Wyoming defensive end Josh Biezuns became the fourth former Cowboy to receive a free-agent offer to play in the NFL.
The Chicago Bears reached free-agent terms with Biezuns, who will participate in the team's minicamp later this month. He'll see a former teammate, as the Bears also signed former Pokes running back Alvester Alexander recently.
Biezuns was seventh on the team with 63 tackles in 2011, with a team-high 11 tackles for loss and was second on the team with five sacks. He also had two fumble recoveries and five forced fumbles.
The versatile defender started at three positions on the Cowboy defense and was named Second Team All-Mountain West after his junior season at defensive end. He was selected MW Defensive Player of the Week for his performance vs. Bowling Green on Sept. 17, recording two sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one blocked kick.
