Boise State's Miller, Wyoming's Burns Named to 2011 FWAA Freshman All-America Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State wide receiver Matt Miller and Wyoming defensive back Blair Burns have been named to the 2011 Football Writers Association of America Freshman All-America Team. The Mountain West is one of seven conferences with multiple representatives on the FWAA's 11th annual team.

Hailing from Helena, Mont., Miller notched 62 receptions for 679 yards and nine touchdowns during the 2011 season. In 13 contests, he averaged 52.2 yards per game and 11.0 yards per catch. Miller caught a career-high nine receptions for 73 yards against TCU on Nov. 12.

A product of Plano, Texas, Burns started the final nine games of the season at cornerback for the Cowboys, tallying 48 tackles (35 solo), four interceptions, four pass breakups, 1.5 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery during his freshman campaign. Burns' four interceptions ranked tied for second in the Mountain West and tied for 23rd in the nation.
