ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Wes Zunker kicked a 43 yard field goal with no time left on the clock to help lead New Mexico to a 27-24 victory over Texas Tech in front of 38,746 fans at University Stadium. Kole McKamey and DonTrell Moore led the Lobos down the field on the final 11 play 54 yard drive in 1:47 that ended with the Zunker field goal.

New Mexico jumped out to an early 7-0 lead on a Kole McKamey touchdown run. Texas Tech came back to take a 14-7 lead on back-to-back touchdown runs. The Lobos would regain the lead 21-14 with a touchdown run from McKamey and McKamey to Hank Baskett pass. The Red Raiders though would end the half with a touchdown and 21-21 half time tie. The only scoring in the second half was field goals, as Texas Tech hit one and the Lobos hit two. In the game Moore became the all-time leading rusher in the MWC with 2,827 career rushing yards passing Larry Ned of San Diego State wit 2,800.
