LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Brett Smith ran for two touchdowns and passed for another as Wyoming beat Texas State 45-10 Saturday.

Smith scored on runs of 29 and 2 yards in the first-ever meeting between the Cowboys and Texas State. He completed 16 of 31 passes for 236 yards and had two interceptions as Wyoming gained 618 total yards on offense and converted 10 of 15 third downs.

Ghaali Muhammad rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, and Brandon Miller added 101 yards for Wyoming. Miller and Alvester Alexander each scored on 1-yard runs.

Meantime, the Cowboys' defense held Texas State to 189 total yards, including a net minus-1 yard on three possessions by the Bobcats during the third quarter when Wyoming extended a 17-10 halftime advantage to 31-10.

Terrence Franks led Texas State with 42 yards rushing and scored the Bobcats only touchdown on an 8-yard run.
