Mountain West Conference Announces Men's Basketball Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU senior Edvinas Ruzgas has been named the Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games through December 20. This is the first weekly accolade of Ruzgas' career.

A 6-6 guard from Vilnius, Lithuania, Ruzgas scored a career-high 32 points on 11-of-13 shooting, including 7-of-9 beyond the arc, in TCU's non-conference win over St. Gregory's (89-62). Ruzgas' 11 made field goals ties for the most by a Conference player this season, while his 84.6 shooting percentage is the highest single-game total for a guard (with 10 or more attempts) and the second-best overall percentage in the league on the season. In addition, his three-pointers made (7) ranks as the fifth-best in TCU program history. Ruzgas also collected four rebounds and one steal in his 25 minutes of action.
