MWC/MVC Challenge Series Features Two Match-Ups This Weekend

MWC Men's Basketball Weekend Release - Nov. 20

The BYU men's basketball team fired the first shot in the inaugural Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge, defeating Bradley (70-60) on Friday, Nov. 13. The Challenge resumes this weekend as Colorado State visits Indiana State on Friday, Nov. 20 (7 p.m. ET) and UNLV entertains Southern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 21 (7 p.m. PT).

The 2009-10 edition of the MWC/MVC Challenge is the first in a four-year agreement between the Mountain West and Missouri Valley Conferences. Nine Challenge games will be played each year, and each conference will host a total of 18 games in the four-year period. The Challenge will feature head-to-head competition between nine Mountain West and nine Missouri Valley teams annually. Evansville, by virtue of finishing the 2007-08 MVC regular season in 10th place, will be the Valley team that does not participate in the 2009 Challenge Series.
