COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference has selected Las Vegas for its 2007-2010 Men's & Women's Basketball Championships.

The league's Board of Directors approved a four-year deal to send the basketball championships to the Thomas & Mack Center/Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas beginning in March 2007. The agreement with Las Vegas Events could extend the contract to six years (through 2012) if both parties mutually agree to continue the relationship in Las Vegas past 2010.

The Thomas & Mack Center hosts several world class events each year, including the National Finals Rodeo, concerts and boxing matches. The venue has also played host to the ESPY and MTV Music Awards, and is the scheduled site for the 2007 NBA All-Star Game. The Thomas & Mack previously served as host of the Mountain West Basketball Championships from 2000-2003.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
