Mountain West Conference Announces 2007-08 Men's Basketball Television Schedule

Package includes 27 nationally-televised contests

Sept. 19, 2007

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced its 2007-08 men's basketball television schedule today. This season's slate features a minimum of 100 games on national and regional television, including 27 to be broadcast nationally with 19 on CSTV and eight on VERSUS. Sixty-three of the 72 conference match-ups, and seven of eight MWC Championship contests are included in the television package. The Conference anticipates adding more non-conference road appearances and game times to the broadcast schedule once those are determined by the television partners of MWC opponents.

The Mountain West Conference will begin its ninth season of basketball competition on Friday, November 9, with a six-game schedule. All four conference match-ups will be televised when MWC play begins Saturday, January 5, 2008, with Air Force at Utah, UNLV at Colorado State, New Mexico at Wyoming and TCU at San Diego State.

Seventy-five games will be shown on The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network, and two of the 100 televised contests will feature simulcasts on The Mtn and CSTV. The Mtn. was the first 24-hour sports network devoted exclusively to a single conference. In addition to live game coverage, fans get a comprehensive array of news, features, and analysis about their favorite MWC teams and players. The Mtn.'s anchors and reporters provide viewers with extensive pre-game, halftime, and post-game coverage, and weekly and seasonal analysis and wrap-ups. The Mtn. also takes fans off the court and behind the scenes with coverage of the latest stats, press conferences, coaching developments and more.

Currently, The Mtn. is carried by 18 cable operators representing over 150 municipalities in California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming and is available to both major satellite providers on comparable terms and conditions. Consumers who would like to see The Mtn. on satellite can contact DirecTV (1-888-238-7177) or Dish Network (1-888-825-2557) to request that The Mtn. - MountainWest Sports Network be added to their lineup.
