LAS VEGAS - The Mayor and City Council of Henderson will make a presentation to UNLV men's basketball head coach Lon Kruger on Tuesday evening during its meeting to honor the Runnin' Rebels for the success of their 2006-07 season.

As part of the presentation, Henderson Mayor James B. Gibson will present Kruger and the UNLV men's basketball team with a proclamation noting the 2006-07 team's exceptional characteristics along with its on-the-court achievements.

The Runnin' Rebels won the Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship in March, finished with a 30-7 overall record and made a NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance - the program's first in 16 years.

Additionally, UNLV was 19-1 at home in 2006-07, including ending the season with 17 straight wins at the Thomas & Mack Center, which ties for the 10th-longest active streak in the country. UNLV was ranked 14th in the nation in the final edition of the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.

The Henderson City Council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Henderson City Hall located at 240 Water Street.
