Colorado State University men's basketball coach Tim Miles today announced that guard Willis Gardner has signed a national letter of intent. Gardner will enroll at Colorado State for the fall semester in 2007.

"We are excited to have a player of Willis' caliber with us for the next two years," Miles said. "He comes from a great junior college program and we look forward to the leadership and the winning mentality he brings to our program."

Gardner is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound native of Norristown, Pa. Last season at Ohlone Junior College in Fremont, Calif., he averaged 11 points and 4.2 assists per game. Gardner shot 51 percent from both the field and behind the three-point line. He also averaged two steals per game in helping Ohlone to a 28-4 record.

Ohlone won the Coast Conference North Division and advanced to the California Community College State tournament Elite Eight. Gardner was named the conference's most valuable player and was a first-team all-league selection.
