BYU's Lee Cummard and Utah's Luke Nevill To Play in NABC Hershey's College All-Star Game; UNM's Tony Danridge to Compete in Slam Dunk Contest
April 1, 2009 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - BYU senior guard Lee Cummard and Utah senior center Luke Nevill have been selected to play in the 2009 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Hershey's College All-Star game, while New Mexico senior Tony Danridge will compete in the 21st State Farm College Slam Dunk Championship. Both events are a part of Final Four weekend in Detroit, Mich. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) assembled the rosters of the Hershey's All-Star Game. The rosters are made up entirely of college seniors. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:35 p.m. ET on Friday, April 3, at Ford Field. The dunk contest will take place Thursday, April 2, at the Palace of Auburn Hills and will be televised live on ESPN starting at 7 p.m. MT. Cummard and Nevill will play for the Hershey's All-Stars coached by Nolan Richardson, who led Arkansas to four Final Fours and the NCAA title in 1994. Missouri head coach Mike Anderson will serve as the assistant coach. The Hershey's All-Stars will take on the Reese's All-Stars, coached by Illinois head coach Bruce Weber and Purdue head coach Matt Painter. As a senior, Cummard led BYU to its third-straight MWC regular season title and a third-consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament. The Mesa, ARiz., product, earned first-team all-MWC honors, was named all-district by the NABC and the United States Basketball Writers Association and was tabbed a fourth-team All-American by FOXSports.com. Nevill, from Perth, Australia, averaged 16.8 points and 9.0 rebounds for the Mountain West Conference champion Runnin' Utes this year en route to earning MWC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
