BYU took over sole possession of first place in the MWC men's basketball standings with a victory over TCU on Wednesday. Also collecting wins in midweek league tilts were New Mexico, San Diego State and Utah, while Wyoming earned a non-conference win over Cal State-Bakersfield.

New Mexico's 40-point victory was the largest over Colorado State since a 111-88 decision against the Rams on March 2, 1978.
It also marked the Lobos' largest win in a conference game since breezing past BYU 90-48 in Provo on Feb. 28, 1997.
New Mexico's Chad Toppert went 5-of-9 from 3-point range and finished with a career-high 22 points.
Colorado State's Marcus Walker was held to 11 points in the contest, ending a seven-game streak of 20-point scoring efforts.

Utah's victory snapped a five-game losing streak in the series with UNLV.
The Utes are now 19-18 all-time vs. the Runnin' Rebels, which gives Utah an overall winning record against every other MWC institution.
Utah's point total was its highest offensive output in MWC action this season.
UNLV had its six-game win streak snapped.

BYU improved its Marriott Center win streak to 43 games, the second-longest active home court victory streak in the nation behind No. 1 Memphis.
At 7-1 in MWC action, the Cougars are off to their best league start since the Mountain West's formation in 1999-00.
BYU's Trent Plaisted matched his career-high of 27 points, going 10-of-14 from the field and 7-of-9 from the free throw line.

The Aztecs held the Falcons to an SDSU low for points scored in a Mountain West game with 38. The previous low was 41 one year ago today vs. Air Force on Feb. 6, 2007.
Air Force's 38 points is also a Cox Arena record for fewest points in a game. The previous low of 41 points occurred on Feb. 6, 2007.
San Diego State has won three straight over the Falcons inside Cox Arena and improves to 22-6 in home games vs. Air Force.

The Cowboys shot 51.7 percent (31-of-60) from the field, marking their highest shooting percentage in 15 games.
Wyoming topped the 40-rebound mark for the fourth time in five games, finishing with 42 boards.
