Smart BugTM Broadcast System Available At 2006 Basketball Championships

Fans that purchase a Smart BugTM receiver at Pepsi Center will have access to a high quality audio feed from the Mountain West Conference Radio Network.

The Mountain West Conference will be using the Smart BugTM Broadcast System at this year's Women's and Men's Basketball Championships. This exciting technology is an in-venue broadcast system that enhances the fan experience through wireless technology.

Fans that purchase a Smart BugTM receiver at Pepsi Center will have access to a high quality audio feed from the Mountain West Conference Radio Network broadcast of all 16 games during the tournament. As a bonus, and for Smart Bug listeners only, the MWC will make available all post game press conferences through the MWC Smart Bug system. In addition, fans listening to the broadcast will have access to special announcements and promotions that will not be available otherwise.

Not only will fans be able to hear the broadcast of the games, press conferences, promotions, etc., they will have a keepsake from year's tournament.

The cost of the system will be $15.00 per receiver, which includes an ear bud and batteries. The Smart Bug booth will be setup inside the West atrium at Pepsi Center.

The Smart BugTM Broadcast System has been used at various events and venues including:

  • 2006 Cotton Bowl
  • National Cutting Horse Association - various venue
  • American Quarter Horse Association - various venues
  • 2005 Breeders' Cup (Belmont Park, NY)
  • Mountain West Conference - Football (Amon Carter Stadium - Forth Worth, TX)
  • Mountain West Conference - Soccer (UNLV Soccer Complex - Las Vegas, NV)
  • Long Beach Aquatics Festival
  • U.S. Figure Skating Championships (Philips Arena Atlanta, GA and Rose Garden Portland, OR)
  • U.S. Track and Field Championships (Stanford Stadium - Palo Alto, CA)
  • Atlanta Thrashers NHL Hockey Team (Philips Arena - Atlanta, GA)
  • Professional Bull Riders World Finals (Thomas and Mack - Las Vegas, NV)
