Utah's Andrew Bogut nets third honor this season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -­ Utah center Andrew Bogut was named Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, marking his fourth career award.

A 7-0 sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, Bogut paced the Utes to a 2-0 record last week with wins over LSU (69-55) and Whitworth (81-60). He scored 24 points and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds in the win over LSU, hitting 10-of-15 field goals. Bogut tallied 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists in only 18 minutes in the win over Whitworth. For the week, Bogut averaged 23.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while shooting over 71 percent from the field (20-of-28). Bogut leads the nation with 11 double-doubles in 15 games this season, and leads the MWC in scoring (20.2 ppg) and rebounding (11.5 rpg).
