Falcons Dominate Northern Colorado, 73-48

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Dan Nwaelele and Antoine Hood scored 23 points each as Air Force beat Northern Colorado 73-48 Thursday night.

Nwaelele hit 5-of-6 3-pointers and was 4-of-4 from the free throw line as Air Force (8-1) turned back a strong start by Northern Colorado (0-9). Hood was 9-of-14 from the field.

Air Force made its first four 3-point attempts in the second half to extend their halftime lead to 40-21 in handing the Bears their worst defeat of the season.

Kirk Archibeque and Sean Taibi led the Bears with 10 points each. Archibeque also had 10 rebounds.

Northern Colorado scored the first five points of the game and led 17-9 midway through the first half before Air Force went on a 22-4 run to build a 31-21 halftime lead.

Stretching back to last season, their first in Division I, Northern Colorado has lost 12 straight games.
