Bulldogs Escape with 68-63 Victory over Horned Frogs The Frogs had four players reach double figures in the setback to Louisiana Tech.

FORT WORTH, Texas - Kyle Gibson scored a game-high 19 points, including seven free throws over the final 25 seconds, en route to leading Louisiana Tech to a 68-63 victory over the Horned Frogs at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum on Saturday evening. Magnum Rolle finished with a double-double after posting 14 points and 12 rebounds to go along with five blocked shots in 27 minutes of action. Olu Ashaolu finished with 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting in 22 minutes of court time to aid the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs controlled the first half of action as Louisiana Tech took its biggest lead at 10 points, 26-16, at the 5:18 mark following a lay-in by David Jackson. The Frogs were able to bounce back in the final minutes of the first frame to cut the lead to three points at 30-27 following a Keion Mitchem (Rochester, N.Y. | Rochester East H.S.) jumper prior to intermission. In the second half, the Frogs and Bulldogs battled to a one-possession game over the final five minutes of action with Louisiana Tech taking a one-point lead at 61-60 with 50 seconds remaining following a lay-in by Rolle. The Louisiana Tech center would make a big defensive stop in the next possession when he blocked a go-ahead lay-in by TCU sophomore Ronnie Moss (Fort Worth, Texas | Christian Life Academy) with 30 seconds remaining in the game. Over the final 25 seconds, Gibson - who connected on 13-of-15 free throws in the game - connected on 7-of-8 attempts at the charity stripe to seal the victory for the Bulldogs. Zvonko Buljan (Split, Croatia | Vincennes University) led the Frogs with 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting to go along with six rebounds in 14 minutes of action.
Edvinas Ruzgas (Vilnius, Lithuania | Weatherford College) finished with 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting in 33 minutes of action while Moss collected 13 points, including three three-pointers, to go along with eight assists, four rebounds and one blocked shot in 38 minutes.
Nikola Cerina (Toplola Oplenac, Serbia | Nikola Tesla Secondary School) collected a career-high 10 points to go along with four rebounds and three blocked shots in 30 minutes of action. With the setback, the Frogs fell to 4-3 on the season while the Bulldogs improved to 5-1 in the 2009-10 campaign.
