BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Paul Delaney scored a career-high 32 points to lead UAB to a 92-71 victory over Wyoming and give Mike Davis a win in his first home game as UAB's head coach.

The victory gave UAB (3-2) a split in two games with Wyoming over a five-day period. Wyoming (3-1) defeated UAB 93-87 on Saturday in Laramie.

Brad Jones scored 21 points to lead Wyoming, and Brandon Ewing added 18. James Spencer scored 14 points for the Cowboys.

Delaney led UAB with a career-high 26 points in the first game against Wyoming. He topped that mark on UAB's home floor, scoring ten points to spark an 18-2 run late in the first half. The run helped UAB overcome a 19-17 deficit and take a 37-25 lead into halftime.

Maurice Gibbs had a career-high 16 points for UAB, while Lawrence Kinnard had 12 points and Frank Holmes had 10.

Davis was coaching his first regular season game at UAB's Bartow Arena. He left Indiana after last season and returned to his home state to take over at UAB after Mike Anderson took the head coaching job at Missouri.

Anderson's UAB teams were known for their "fastest 40 minutes in basketball" style. Davis did not use the kind of full court pressure defense that Anderson employed. But his Blazers used an up tempo offense and shot 60.4% from the field. UAB extended its home winning streak to 14.

Jones scored 35 points against UAB in the game in Laramie but the Blazers used a tight man-to-man defense to hold him to two points in the first half of the rematch.
