Colorado State Holds Off Northern Colorado, 85-74

Walker leads victorious Rams with 31 points

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -Marcus Walker had a 3-pointer and key steal in the last two minutes and scored 31 points to lead Colorado State to an 85-74 victory over Northern Colorado Tuesday night.

Walker was nine for 18 shooting and played 38 of 40 minutes in the game. Andy Ogide had 13 points and nine rebounds for Colorado State (2-0).

Jefferson Mason led Northern Colorado (0-2) with 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Bears of the Big Sky Conference hurt themselves with 23 turnovers.

The Rams led 67-57 after two free throws by Walker with 5:48, but Northern Colorado stormed back to get within 74-70 on a basket and free throw by Jabril Banks with 2:03 left.

Walker followed with a 3-pointer. And after two free throws by Will Figures made it 77-72, Walker stole an errant pass and converted it into a layup with 43.6 seconds to go. The layup made it 79-72.
