Curtis Terry poured in a contest-high 26 points as the UNLV Runnin' Rebels held off the Montana State Bobcats, 76-65, in non-league play at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Terry connected on 9-of-12 shots from the floor and he also grabbed four boards in the win. Wink Adams also got into the mix for UNLV (1-0), finishing with 11 points and six rebounds.

Branden Johnson headed the charge for Montana State (0-1) with 16 points off the bench. Divaldo Mbunga added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Carlos Taylor and Mecklen Davis each chipped in 11 points in the losing cause.

Montana State connected on just 32.1 percent of its field goal attempts in the first frame and it trailed, 40-26, at the intermission.

In the second half, the Rebels converted 9-of-12 free-throw tries to capture the 11-point victory.

UNLV committed just nine turnovers in the game compared to 17 by the Bobcats.
