SAN DIEGO (AP) - Mohamed Abukar scored a career high 26 points and Marcus Slaughter added 20 points and nine rebounds as San Diego State beat Wyoming, 91-72, to win its first outright Mountain West Conference championship Wednesday night before a sellout crowd of 12,414 at Cox Arena.

The Aztecs (20-7, 13-3 conference) last won an outright conference title in 1978 when they played in the Pacific Coast Athletic Association.

San Diego State finishes its regular season Friday at home against South Dakota State before playing in the MWC tournament in Denver on March 9.

Wyoming was leading 15-12 when the Aztecs went on a 32-5 run, en route to a 46-24 halftime lead.

San Diego State increased its lead to 30 points, 74-44, midway through the second half.

Brandon Ewing had 14 points to lead Wyoming (12-16, 5-10), while Brad Jones had 13 and Justin Williams scored 10 and blocked five shots. Williams is second in the nation in blocks with 137.
