BYU Defeats Colorado State, 77-69 BYU has won nine of its last 10 games.

PROVO, Utah (AP) - Rashaun Broadus scored 11 first-half points to help Brigham Young lead from buzzer to buzzer and beat Colorado State 77-69 Wednesday night. BYU (19-7, 11-4 Mountain West) has now won nine of its last 10 games and five consecutive to move into a second-place tie with Air Force in the conference. Colorado State (15-13, 4-11) had won two straight and three of four games before the loss to BYU. The Cougars, ahead 37-34 at the break, began the second half by outscoring the Rams 17-2 to take a 54-36 lead. The Rams stayed close and were able to cut the BYU lead to six with 31 seconds remaining at 73-67 with a 9-0 run that featured six points by Michael Harrison. Jimmy Balderson and Fernando Malaman both hit a pair of free throws for the Cougars down the stretch to preserve the win for BYU. In the first half, BYU started the game with a 22-6 run over the first eight minutes of the game. Broadus scored nine of his team high 13 points during the run. CSU was able to pull close by halftime by holding the Cougars scoreless over the final 4:30 of the half. Starters Brock Reichner and Trent Plaisted scored 12 and 10 points for the Cougars while Balderson and Malaman came of the bench to add 12 and 11 points respectively. Harrison had game highs in points and rebounds with 17 and seven, respectively. Cory Lewis scored 13 points and had four assists, but committed six turnovers for the Rams.
