Stats

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) - Dan Nwaelele scored 15 points and Jacob Burtschi made the winning free throw with less than a second left to give Air Force a 62-61 win Saturday over Wyoming.

The win broke a two-game losing streak for Air Force (19-5, 7-4 Mountain West) and avenged a 55-50 loss to the Cowboys (12-12, 5-6) a month ago.

Steve Leven tied it 60-60 for Wyoming with a layup with 31 seconds left, but Brad Jones fouled with 11 seconds left on the clock. Matt McCraw made the first of two free throws to give Air Force a 61-60 lead.

Wyoming had a chance to take the lead after John Frye fouled, but Justin Williams missed his second free throw.

Burtschi then drew a foul, made his first foul shot and then grabbed his own rebound on the second foul shot, which he missed on purpose, as time expired.

Wyoming led 52-46 with 6:14 to go before the Falcons went on a 6-0 run to tie it. The lead changed hands three times from there.

The score was tied 30-30 at halftime.

Burtschi finished with 13 points and Frye added 11 for the Falcons.

Brandon Ewing had 17 points for Wyoming, and Williams added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
