Amundson's 21 Leads Rebels Past Rams, 68-57

Adams adds 20 points and eight steals in home win.

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Louis Amundson had a game-high 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead UNLV past Colorado State 68-57 on Wednesday.

Amundson shot 9-of-17 from the field along with two blocks. He had 15 points in the first half, going 7-of-12 from the field. Jo'Van Adams scored 20 points and eight steals to help UNLV (9-7, 3-1 MWC).

For Colorado State (12-5, 1-3), Stuart Creason led with 13 points and five rebounds. Jason Smith and Andrew Patterson each scored 12 apiece.

The Rebels led throughout the game except for two brief two-point Colorado State leads in the first half. UNLV jumped to a 16-7 lead before the Rams took their last lead at 21-19 with 8:31 left in the first half. The Rebels then responded with a 10-0 run and later led 38-29 at intermission.

In the second half, the Rams never got closer than 58-50 with 3:12 left. UNLV then scored the game's next six points for its largest lead. Colorado State's Corey Lewis was ejected and whistled for an intentional foul after swinging toward Dustin Villepigue with 14:16 left in the game.

Lewis left the game with four points in 12 minutes.
