FORT WORTH, Texas - Former TCU baseball All-American Jake Arrieta is slated to be the game four starter for the United States at the Beijing Olympics. The United States (1-2) will square off against Team Canada Friday night beginning at 9:30 p.m. (CST). The game can be seen online only with a replay airing Saturday afternoon on MSNBC beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Arrieta is in his first full season of professional baseball. This season as a member of the Baltimore Orioles High A Frederick Keys, Arrieta has earned numerous accolades. He was the starting pitcher for the Carolina-California League All-Star game. He was named to the Olympic team after earning a spot in the MLB Future's Game that took place at Yankee Stadium over the all-star break.

Arrieta is 6-5 this season with a 2.87 ERA. In 113 innings pitched the right-hander has fanned a league-high 120 batters. He is limiting opponents to a .199 batting average against.

Team USA is 1-2 in the first three games of the round-robin qualifier. It dropped an 8-7 decision to Korea in the opener, but rebounded with a 7-0 victory over the Netherlands. Earlier Friday, the team dropped a 5-4 extra-inning decision to Cuba.

In other minor league news, former Horned Frog Brad Furnish was promoted to Double-A Springfield, an affiliate of the Saint Louis Cardinals. He was 8-8 in 25 appearances for the Palm Beach Cardinals. He tallied 74 strikeouts in 115 innings pitched to go along with a 5.17 ERA.
