TCU among the best in producing All-America pitchers

FORT WORTH, Texas -- In a national survey, the TCU baseball team is tied for the nation's second-longest current streak of consecutive seasons with an All-America pitcher at four in a row.

The Horned Frogs' run of All-America hurlers includes Clayton Jerome (2003), Robbie Findlay (2004), Lance Broadway (2005) and Jake Arrieta (2006).

"Certainly, this is a great accomplishment for our program and one that we hope continues," TCU baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle said. "I think it is a reflection of our success over the last few years and the hard work and dedication of some pretty special pitchers.

"Along with their teammates, a lot of people, including our athletic training and strength and conditioning staff, had a hand in the development of all of these fine young men."

Only Cal State Fullerton, with nine straight years of All-America pitchers dating back to 1998, has a longer current streak. Southern Miss has also had an All-America pitcher in each of the last four seasons.

TCU and Cal State Fullerton will begin a home-and-home series beginning in 2008 when the Titans come to Fort Worth. The Frogs travel to Fullerton in 2009.
