TCU Trio Named To CWS All-Tournament Team Taylor Featherston, Bryan Holaday and Matt Purke honored
June 30, 2010 OMAHA, Neb. - A trio of TCU Horned Frogs were named to the 2010 College World Series All-Tournament team for their performance in the CWS. Taylor Featherston, Bryan Holaday and Matt Purke were part of the 11-man squad. The Frogs posted a 3-2 record in their first-ever trip to the College World Series. Featherston paced the Frogs with a team-high seven RBIs in the tournament. He batted .333 with five hits, including a double, a triple and a home run. The sophomore also tallied the Frogs' lone stolen base in the tournament and played flawless defense in 19 chances at shortstop. Holaday led the Frogs with a .409 batting average in the World Series and clubbed a tournament-high four home runs as part of nine hits in Omaha. He drove in five runs and scored eight more for the Frogs. Purke was one of two pitchers named to the all-tournament squad. He was 2-0 in his two starts with a 1.35 ERA. In 13 1/3 innings pitched, the freshman fanned nine and held opponents to a .152 batting average. TCU wrapped up its most successful campaign in school history with a 54-14 record. The 54 victories are tied for the second-most in Division I with the 2010 National Champions, South Carolina. The Frogs were one of just nine schools to total at least 50 wins in 2010.
