Siegel and Dilley resign from TCU Baseball Coaches spent three seasons with the Horned Frogs
June 14, 2006 FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU Baseball Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle announced that Assistant Coach Matt Siegel and Director of Baseball Operations Mike Dilley have resigned their posts with TCU Baseball to explore other opportunities in the private sector. Both were part of Schlossnagle's original staff when he came to TCU in the summer of 2003 and have spent the last three seasons with the team. Siegel's duties at TCU included, instructing the hitters and base runners. He also served as the team's third base coach. His knowledge of the game paid dividends as the Frogs had a combined batting average of .294 and swiped 63 bags under his guidance in 2004. The Frogs saw even more offensive production in 2005 and 2006 under Siegel's tutelage. TCU finished the 2005 campaign with a .310 batting average and bettered that in 2006 with a team average of .311. The offense averaged nearly seven runs per game in his three years as third base coach. "The past three seasons at TCU have been extremely special," said Siegel. "I will treasure the lifelong relationships that I've made with the players and staff at TCU. I feel that Horned Frog Baseball has made enormous strides over this time and I wish everybody involved with the baseball program continued success. It has been a pleasure working at such a great university." Dilley was in charge of all the daily office functions, coordinating travel, assisting with the Diamond Club, overseeing the maintenance of the field and upkeep of equipment, and assisting with recruiting. "Being at TCU the past three years has given me the opportunity to come in contact with outstanding people and build friendships and relationships that I will never forget," said Dilley. "I feel proud to have been associated with the university as a whole and to have been a part of the success of the program over the last three years, and look forward to seeing the program reach even higher heights in the future." "We really appreciate the contributions that Mike and Matt have made to our program over the last three years," remarked Schlossnagle. "Coaching in college baseball is very demanding and hard on families, so I understand and support their decision. We wish them only the best in their private endeavors." -tcu
