Three more Frogs taken on day two of MLB Draft Frogs set school record for draft picks
June 8, 2007 Fort Worth, Texas - Three more Horned Frogs were selected on the final day of the 2007 MLB Draft bringing the final tally to a school-record seven draft picks. Keith Conlon was the first Frog taken on Friday as he went in the 14th round to the San Diego Padres. Cody Dunbar was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 21st round and Seth Garrison was a 25th round pick by the Boston Red Sox. Conlon was a three-year starter for the Horned Frogs after transferring from Weatherford Junior College in the fall of 2004. He was named second-team all-Mountain West as a senior following an impressive senior campaign during which he hit .399 with a career-high nine home runs. For his career, Conlon played in 147 games and made 134 starts. He was a career .346 hitter with 35 doubles, nine triples and 19 home runs to go along with 121 RBIs. He tallied 23 stolen bases in 29 attempts. Dunbar transferred to TCU in the fall of 2006 from John A. Logan Junior College. He made 17 appearances this season and finished with a 1-1 record. In 18 2/3 innings pitched, the junior tallied 17 strikeouts and finished the year with a 5.79 ERA. An elbow injury cut short a promising season for Garrison. He made just six appearances for the Frogs and had a 1-0 record in 23 innings pitched. He posted a 1.96 ERA and had 23 strikeouts. Additionally, two Horned Frog signees were drafted on day two. Andrew Cashner was picked in the 29th round by the Chicago Cubs, while Greg Holle was drafted in the 25th round by the New York Yankees.
