LAS VEGAS - Kevin Skogley of UNLV baseball was selected Wednesday during the second day of the Major League Baseball draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Skogley, a native of Hermiston, Ore., was taken in the 30th round with the 912th pick of the draft by the Angels and it marks the 22nd-consecutive year that a Rebel player has been drafted.

A sophomore left hander, Skogley was 3-6 last year with a team-high 60 strike outs in 77.1 innings of work. He made 14 starts and a total of 20 appearances after he sat out the 2005 season due to elbow surgery. As a freshman Skogley made eight appearances, including one start, and did not get a decision in the 2004.

Skogley can still return and pitch for the Rebels next year if he does not sign with the Angels.
