Two MWC Baseball Student-Athletes Named To Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team 2007 MWC Co-Freshmen of the Year Stephen Strasburg (San Diego State) and Steve Parker (BYU) honored.
June 6, 2007 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State right-handed relief pitcher Stephen Strasburg and BYU third baseman Steve Parker have been selected to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American squad as announced Wednesday (June 6) by Collegiate Baseball. Strasburg, a second team all-Mountain West selection and co-Freshman Player of The Year, posted an MWC freshman-high seven saves on the season, which ties the all-time single-season conference mark for saves by a freshman. He also contributed 47 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.43 in 37.0 innings pitched. Parker, also named Co-Freshman of The Year in the league, hit .347 with six homers, 38 RBI and scored 40 runs. He had an on-base percentage of .464 which ranked third in the league.
