COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - TCU junior outfielder Chris Ellington and Air Force sophomore right-hander Alex Truesdale have been named Mountain West Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week. This is the second career weekly award for Ellington and the first for Truesdale.

Ellington, from Weatherford, Texas, batted .563 (9-for-16) from the plate with one home run, two doubles, nine RBI and four runs scored in the Horned Frogs' three-game sweep of New Mexico last weekend in Albuquerque. In game one, Ellington's first inning RBI double gave TCU a 1-0 lead on the way to an 8-3 win. In game two, he went 4-for-5 with a home run, career-high six RBI and four runs scored as TCU clinched the regular-season title with a 14-11 victory. In the series finale, Ellington went 4-for-6 with two RBI and two runs scored as the Horned Frogs completed the series sweep with a 13-4 win.

Truesdale, an Austin, Texas, native, collected a complete-game victory in the Falcons' 10-1 series opening win against UNLV last Thursday. The win snapped Air Force's 27-game losing streak to the Rebels. Truesdale allowed just one run and one extra base hit (a solo home run), while scattering eight hits and striking out a career-best eight batters. The one run allowed was the fewest allowed by an Air Force starter in a conference complete-game victory since Josh Zumbrun blanked San Diego State in 2003.
