WEEK 10 REVIEW
No. 15 TCU (27-12, 8-4 MWC) took sole posession of first place in the MWC standings after winning two-of-three games over San Diego State (28-17, 10-8 MWC) last weekend in San Diego. New Mexico (31-12, 11-6 MWC) and BYU (24-17, 11-6 MWC) fell into a tie for second after winning one game apiece in their weather-shortened series over the weekend. In other action, after losing the first game of the series to Air Force (14-26, 3-9 MWC), UNLV (22-21, 7-8 MWC) came back to win the final two contests for a series win, while Utah won the final outing of a three-game series vs. No. 1 UC Irvine for a 1-2 mark vs. the Anteaters.

WEEK 11 PREVIEW
This week's conference play kicks off on Thursday, April 30, with league-leading and 15th-ranked TCU hosting BYU in a three-games series. Other league matchups will see New Mexico hosting UNLV and Air Force hosting Utah, both starting on Friday. San Diego State is idle from conference play this week and will travel to Santa Clara for a three-game non-conference tilt, starting Friday. In other non-conference action, Air Force, New Mexico and UNLV will start the week with two-game series vs. Northern Colorado, Nebraska and Cal State Northridge, respectively. TCU and Utah will also be in non-league play to start their respective weeks of play with the Horned Frogs taking on No. 15 Texas A&M and Houston Baptist and the Utes going up against Utah Valley.

SDSU'S STEPHEN STRASBURG SETS NEW MWC ALL-TIME STRIKEOUT RECORD
With his fourth strikeout vs. TCU on April 24, San Diego State junior righthander Stephen Strasburg became the new Mountain West Conference all-time leader in strikeouts. Strasburg surpassed former all-time league record- holder Aztec Bruce Billings' (2004-2007) mark of 304 strikeouts and currently has 315 K's for his career. On the season, Strasburg has an NCAA-best 135 strikeouts in 10 appearances (13.5 per game). For his career, the San Diego, Calif., native, averages 13.85 strikeouts per nine innings, which currently ranks first all-time in Conference

SDSU'S REED NAMED TO MIDSEASON STOPPER OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST
San Diego State sophomore relief pitcher Addison Reed was one of forty-five collegiate relief pitchers from across the nation to be placed on the midseason watch list for the fifth annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, announced April 16 by the NCBWA. The award is given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I college baseball.

Reed, a Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native, currently leads the nation with 14 saves and is the only closer with double digits in that category. The righthander carries a 0.49 earned run average and has totaled 25 strikeouts in only 18.1 innings pitched.

SDSU'S STRASBURG AND REED NAMED TO PITCHER OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST
San Diego State junior righthander Stephen Strasburg and sophomore righthander Addison Reed are two of 50 collegiate pitchers named to the inaugural watch list for Pitcher of the Year announced by the College Baseball Foundation and Mizuno on April 26. The Pitcher of the Year will be honored during the College Baseball Awards Show on July 2 in Lubbock, Texas.

Strasburg, a San Diego, Calif., native, is currently 9-0 on the season with a 1.54 earned run average in 10 appearances and 70.1 innings pitched. He also leads the nation with 135 strikeouts for an NCAA-leading average of 13.5 per game. MWC TEAMS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
TCU moved up in the national rankings this week. The Horned Frogs are ranked 15th by Baseball America, 18th by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and 20th by Collegiate Baseball and USA Today Baseball Weekly/ESPN. San Diego State fell out of the national rankings, but is still receiving votes in the USA Today Baseball Weekly/ESPN and NCBWA polls. New Mexico and BYU are both receiving votes in the USA Today Baseball Weekly/ESPN and NCBWA polls.
