THIS WEEK IN THE MWC
All seven MWC teams will be in non-conference action this week, with eight games against top-25 opposition slated. Action kicks off Wednesday with UNLV and New Mexico facing top-ranked Arizona and Arizona State, respectively, while BYU takes on Pacific and TCU hosts Texas State. In series action, Utah visits Southern Utah for a three-game series starting Thursday. In other series play, TCU hosts No. 2 Mississippi and UNLV plays host to San Francisco, starting on Friday. Air Force, BYU, New Mexico, San Diego State and Utah will all be participating in tournaments this week. The Aztecs host the SDSU Tournament, where 20th-ranked Oklahoma State and No. 12 Oregon State are scheduled. New Mexico also faces another ranked opponent when they take on 18th-ranked California at the Metrodome Tournament in Minneapolis, Minn. On the season, the MWC has posted four victories over ranked opponents.
