Nov. 16, 2006

The University of Utah Cross Country team finished out their season strong with an 11th place finish at the NCAA Regional Championships. The race was held on Nov. 11th at the University North Golf Course in Albuquerque N.M. The Utes were led by freshman Alyssa Abbott who placed 46th in 22:35.9. This year the Utes were six places and 95 points better than last year's performance.

The rest of the Utes ran very well throughout the race. Lauren Enderson and Chelsea DiGrazia finished four-tenths of a second behind one another. Enderson took 53rd in 23:00.2 and DiGrazia was 54th in 23:00.6. The rest of the Utes were as follows, Stephanie Skoreyko (62nd, 23:12), Kellie Anderson (92nd, 24:08.5) and Janett Ern (94th, 24:11).

"I am very pleased with our performance last weekend," Coach Kyle Kepler said. "The athletes really stepped it up and rose to the occasion."

Kepler ends with, "We ended the season with a lot of confidence and left something to build on for next season as the runners continue to grow."

As the Utes season comes to an end they look back on all the hard work and improvements they have made and are taking some much deserved time off until next season.
