Las Vegas - UNLV women's cross country heads to the Mountain West Conference Championships held at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif., on Oct. 30 with the women's 6k race beginning at 9:00 a.m. (PST).

Michele Suszek paces the Rebel squad, as the senior has finished in the top-10 in three of the four meets she has run in this year, including a third-place finish at the UNLV Invite two weeks ago. Suszek was the Rebels' highest finisher at last years MWC Championships, finishing in a time of 23:47 to finish 31st. Erin Hammond, Sarah Loughlin, Heather Walsh and Ashley Pierce who all ran in last year's MWC Championships return for this year's meet.

UNLV finished last year's championships in eighth place with 234 points. BYU won its fifth-straight women's title last year as five of its runners finished in the top-8. The Cougars went on to finish second at the 2003 NCAA Championships.

BYU is favored again this year to make it six straight titles, as the Cougars are ranked 12th in the nation. Last year's MWC runner-up Laura Turner of BYU returns for this year's MWC meet.
