COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2002 Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country championships will be held on Friday, Nov. 1, at East Bay Golf Course in Provo, Utah. The women's 6K race will begin at 3:30 p.m. MST, with the men's 8K at 4:15 p.m.

The women's race will feature top-ranked and three-time defending conference champion BYU and No. 29 Colorado State. Individually, BYU returns last year's runner-up Michaela Mannova, along with top-10 finishers Jessie Kindschi, Nan Evans-Kennard and Amy Bair. Colorado State's Colleen Blair, Meg Larson and Katie Yemm will also make a strong run at the championship.

For the men, 10th-ranked and three-time defending conference champion BYU and No. 14 Colorado State are the favorites to win the title.
