FORT COLLINS, Colo. - After not competing for two weeks, the Colorado State cross country teams will return to action this weekend at the Pre-NCAA Championship Meet held in Waterloo, Iowa on the course of the national championship.

Highest Ranking: Last week, the men's team achieved the highest ranking in school history when they were eighth after not competing the prior week. This week, the team dropped one spot, again after not competing, to ninth. The women's team is holding steady at the 20th position in the national polls. Colorado State is one of 15 institutions to have both its men's and women's teams ranked in the top 25 and is one of only four schools to have teams in the top 25 in men's and women's cross country and volleyball (Stanford, Notre Dame, Wisconsin).

Roy Griak Recap: The Colorado State men's and women's cross country teams both finished in the top-ten at the prestigious annual Roy Griak Invitational. The men's team placed third, while the women finished in seventh place. Leading the way for the men was Austin Vigil, finishing in 5th place with time of 24:24. Two other Rams, Bill Michel and Josh Glaab finished in the top-15. Michel recorded a time of 24:33 to finish in 10th place. Glaab finished just three seconds behind Michel to take 14th. Mike Nicks finished 37th for Colorado State, crossing the finish line with a time of 25:02, and Matt Cianciulli recorded a time of 25:39 to finish in 86th. Also competing for the men were Paul Michel and Paul DiGrappa who finished in 88th and 100th, respectively. Nicole Feest finished in 27th place with a time of 21:38 to lead the women's team. Michelle Carman recorded a time of 21:53 to finish 42nd, just ahead of Colleen Blair and Crystal Clark who each finished with a time of 21:54 to finish 44th and 46th, respectively. Jennifer Kintzley finished in 62nd with a time of 22:09. Also competing for the Rams were Katie Yemm who finished 64th with a time of 22:10 and Sarah MacKay, who finished in 67th place with a time of 22:11.

New Mexico Recap: The Colorado State men's and women's cross country teams swept the University of New Mexico Lobo Invitational, the second straight event won by both teams. The men finished with a team score of 35 led by three runners who finished in the top 10. Josh Glaab and Austin Vigil finished third and fourth, respectively. Both Glaab and Vigil crossed the finish line with a time of 24:58. Bill Michel took sixth place for the Rams, recording a time of 25:02. Paul DiGrappa recorded a mark of 25:12 to finish 10th, followed closely by Mike Nicks. Nicks finished with a time of 25:24 to take the 12th spot. Matt Cianciulli finished in 19th just ahead of Paul Michel who rounded out the rest of the field for Colorado State, finishing with times of 25:41 and 25:47 respectively. The women recorded a team score of 36, finishing more than one minute ahead of second place Texas Tech. Four Ram women finished in the top ten led by a third place finish by Crystal Clark, crossing the finish line with a time of 22:40. Colleen Blair, Katie Yemm and Nicole Feest finished 6th, 7th and 8th respectively for Colorado State. Blair finished with a time of 22:48, only one second ahead of Yemm. Feest finished close behind with a time of 22:52. Rounding out the field for the Rams was Michelle Carman who finished 12th with a time of 23:01, only one second ahead of 13th place finisher Bekah Yetzer. Sarah MacKay finished in 18th with a time of 23:17.

Picked Second: The Colorado State men's and women's cross country teams were picked to finish second in the Mountain West Conference Championship on November 1 in San Diego. BYU was chosen by the league's coaches to win both titles.
