COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force sophomore Scott Balcao and BYU senior Anne Heiner have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week.

Balcao, from Stockton, Calif., was the first Falcon to cross the finish line, leading the way for Air Force's first-place team finish at the Fort Hays Invitational in Fort Hays, Kan., last weekend. He clocked a time of 26:18.00 to finish ninth out of 112 runners as the Falcons won their third straight Fort Hays Invite.

Heiner, a Las Cruces, N.M., native, finished fourth at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic in Orlando, Fla., last Saturday. Her time of 17:59.00 in the 5K race led the sixth-ranked Cougars to the team title with a total score of 35 points.
