COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force Academy freshman Chris Acs and Brigham Young University redshirt freshman Katie Martin have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.

At the Indiana State Invitational Sept. 30, Acs was the first Falcon to cross the finish line with a time of 25:21 in the 8K race, a personal best. The Niles, Ohio, native finished eighth overall out of 93 total participants, including runners from No. 11 ranked Northern Arizona. The Falcons finished fourth out of 11 teams. Acs has been team leader in three races this season for Air Force.

Martin posted a 2nd-place finish at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., Sept. 30. Her time of 18:30 in the open 5K race led her team out of 244 total runners. The Fremont, Calif., native's time allowed her squad to finish first out of thirty teams, including No. 1 ranked Stanford. Three other Cougars also finished in the top 10, which catapulted BYU to a No. 3 national ranking.
