COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force senior Chris Acs and BYU junior Rena Williams have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively. This is the third career weekly honor for Acs and the first for Williams.

Acs, a Niles, Ohio, product, won the men's 8K race at the Indiana State Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., last weekend. His time of 24:38 led Air Force to the team victory, its second of the season.

Williams, a Beaver, Utah, native, led the Cougars to a first place finish at the Pre-MWC Championships Meet in San Diego last weekend, crossing the finish line first overall (out of 43 runners). She finished the 6K race in 22:27, kicking ahead of teammate Katie Moon and Utah's Elise Greenwood down the final stretch to secure her win.

The Air Force men will be in Fort Hays, Kan. on Oct. 11 for the Fort Hays Invitational, while the BYU women will take two weeks off and return to competition at the Pre-Nationals Meet in Cedar Fall, Iowa on Oct. 18.
