COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State University sophomore Austin Vigil and Air Force Academy senior Elissa Ballas have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.

Vigil, a Fruita, Colo. native, finished third out of 178 runners at the Indiana State University Invitational on Oct. 5. He ran the 8K course in a career-best time of 24:36.4, to pace the Rams to a first place finish. This is the third consecutive meet that Vigil has led Colorado State and the second time this season he has placed in the top five finishers.

Ballas who hails from Bay Village, Ohio, finished ninth out of 146 runners at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on Oct. 5. She ran the 5K course in a career-best 18:22, to pace the Falcons to a fourth place finish.
