MWC Harriers of the Week Air Force's Nick Wilson and San Diego State's Lital Azulay honored
Oct. 5, 2005 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force senior Nick Wilson and San Diego State sophomore Lital Azulay have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively. This is the second weekly honor of the season and career for Wilson and the first career for Azulay. Wilson, a Jacksonville, Fla., native, finished second (out of 105 runners) at the Willamette Invitational last Saturday in Salem, Ore. His time of 23:53.80 in the 8K race is a personal and MWC season-best. Wilson, who also holds the conference season record in the 4.25 mile, led the 26th-ranked Falcons to a third place finish overall, behind No. 16 Portland and 24th-ranked Washington. Azulay, from Holon, Israel, crossed the finish line third overall (out of 138 runners) at the Willamette Invite. Her 17:10.50 clocking in the 5K race is a career-best and the ninth fastest time in SDSU history, as well as a conference season-best. The Aztecs finished fifth overall in the 15-team field that featured No. 23 Washington and No. 30 Oregon, among others.
