Mountain West Conference Cross Country Athletes Of The Week Utah's Jameson and BYU's Mannova garner weekly honors.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah senior Teren Jameson and BYU sophomore Michaela Mannova have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively. Jameson earned his third straight cross country victory, finishing first out of 198 runners at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 29 in Palo Alto. The Taylorsville, Utah native crossed the finish line in a season best 24:35, helping the Utes to an impressive fourth place finish in the 8K race. This is the third career athlete of the week award for the All-American. Competing in her first race as a Cougar at the Stanford Invitational, Mannova finished the women's 4K race second overall with a time of 12:54. The All-American transfer from the University of New Orleans led the BYU women to a second place finish. The Utes will return to action on Oct. 27 at the Mountain West Conference Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., while the BYU women take the week off to prepare for the NCAA Pre-National Meet in Greenville, S.C. on Oct. 13.
This week in the MWC: Wyoming and the Air Force Academy compete at the Rocky Mountain Shootout in Boulder, Colo., while New Mexico will compete at the Arizona State Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. San Diego State and UNLV will run at the Long Beach State Invitational in Long Beach, Calif. All meets are scheduled for Oct. 6.
