COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming senior Mark Korir and New Mexico senior Michelle Corrigan have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively.

Korir receives his second-consecutive weekly honor of the season for his efforts at the Roy Griak Invitational held last Saturday in Falcon Heights, Minn. Korir finished the men's 8K race in a personal-best and league season-best time of 24:10. The Eldoret, Kenya, native placed third among a field of more than 200 individuals to lead the Cowboys to a 12th-place finish out of 25 teams.

Corrigan finished eighth to lead the New Mexico women to a third-place finish in the 23-team field at Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational meet held last Saturday. Corrigan moved up 12 spots over the second half of the 6K race, finishing with a time of 21:39.9 in her season debut. The Green Bay, Wisc., product's time currently ranks first in the league for the 6K distance. This marks the first weekly honor of her career.
