COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State sophomore Jeremy Freed and BYU sophomore Amber Duffin have been selected as the Mountain West Conference men's and women's cross country athletes of the week.

Freed, an Evergreen, Colo., native, finished 27th at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., last weekend. He was the first MWC athlete to cross the finish line in an 8K personal-best time of 25:24.55, helping the Rams to a 16th place finish.

Competing in her first race of the season, Duffin led the fifth-ranked Cougar women to a second-place team finish at the Great American Invitational in Hoover, Ala. She finished third overall in the 5K race with a time of 18:47.00.
