BYU senior Michaela Mannova has been selected as the Mountain West Conference women's cross country athlete of the week. This is the second athlete of the week award of her career.

Mannova, a Dvur Kralov, Czech Republic, native, opened her season with a first-place finish (out of 50 runners) at the University of Hawaii's Big Wave Invitational last weekend. She finished the 4K race in 13:28, 20 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Mannova led the Cougars, who were running without some of their other top runners, to a second place finish at the Big Wave Invite.

The BYU women will be in Cary, N.C. for the Great American Cross Country Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26.
